At the festive session of the Academy of Athens on 30 December 1986, the John S. Latsis Ileians’ Scholarships Foundation, following a proposal by the Order of Moral and Political Sciences, was presented with the Academy of Athens Award for its contribution to the education and progress of Ileian youth and generally for its activity in the field of education.
